Creating a Comfortable Atmosphere

While guests are primarily booking your space for the pool, it’s important not to neglect the space around. You are not only providing guests with a pool to swim in, you are providing them with an experience, which includes your surrounding yard. You wouldn’t want to book a room at a hotel that lacks essential furniture, is unclean, or has a reputation for having rude, unaccommodating staff. Tidy Up: This is key to providing guests with an unforgettable experience. Beyond cleaning before a guest arrives, it’s important to make sure your overall space looks good. This means - no DIY projects left half finished in your yard, no dog poop on your lawn, no discarded children’s toys or sports equipment. You want your space to  be visually appealing to guests, and that cannot happen without tidying up your space and putting some effort into the aesthetic of your space. Ideally, your space should look ready to be professionally photographed and displayed in a magazine when a guest arrives. 

Provide Seating: You want your guests to be comfortable during their visit, and the easiest way to do this is to provide them a comfortable seating area, preferably with some shade. When a guest books a swim with you, unless it is only one hour, they are unlikely to spend the entire time in the pool. Guests who book several hour swims need space to relax around the pool, to watch their kids, take a break from swimming, or get out of the sun. To be able to facilitate and sustain longer bookings, it’s important to provide more than just the pool itself to guests. 

Add Amenities: If you want to go a step further, add some amenities to your space. Think about investing in a fire pit or a grill, or add some pool floats and yard games. The addition of amenities helps attract more guests and gives them a more deluxe experience.
