To select a pricing structure and configure prices, go to your host settings here and then to “Pricing”
Tiered Pricing Structure
Tiered pricing is the recommended pricing structure for most hosts. Hosts on tiered pricing typically earn 10-15% more than hosts on per-guest pricing.
Tiered Pricing allows you to charge an hourly price for a range of guests. For example, you can set an hourly rate for:
- 1-5 guests
- 6-10 guests
- 11-15 guests
- 16-20 guests
- 21-30 guests
- And so on
Swimply will recommend a price for each tier, but ultimately you will have the ability to set a price for each tier.
Tiered pricing is our recommended structure because:
- The math is significantly easier for guests - they’ll immediately be able to figure out how much they’ll need to pay for the number of guests they’re bringing
- There is less pressure for both the host and guest to maintain an exact guest count
From internal Swimply data, we see that hosts on tiered pricing typically earn 10-15% more than hosts on per-guest pricing.
Per-Guest Pricing
Per-guest pricing allows you to:
- Set a “base hourly rate” that is charged up to a fixed number of guests
- Set an “additional guest hourly fee” that is charged for each additional guest
Swimply will recommend a set of default values for per-guest pricing, but ultimately you will have the ability to configure the base rate, guest threshold, and additional guest fee.
Full Day Pricing
Full day pricing allows you to charge a flat rate for a booking. There are two options within flat-rate pricing:
- Set a single flat rate price, irrespective of guest count
- Set a flat rate price based on guest tier (in increments of 100 guests)
This pricing structure is recommended primarily for large venues that are hosting large events.
FAQs
What happens to an existing booking if I edit my prices?
When you have a confirmed booking on Swimply, the price is locked in based on the rates that were in effect at the time the booking was originally placed. Any edits made to the booking will be calculated using the pricing structure at that time.
-
- Pricing at the Time of Booking: The pricing available on the listing when the booking was confirmed will apply to any edits. The original rates will remain in effect whether adjusting the time, the number of guests, or other details.
- New Tier Added: If a pricing tier was not available or not active on the listing when initially booked, it will not be factored into the cost of the edits. Please confirm the increase in price with the guest and contact Customer Support to process any additional charges.
