Swimply allows for you to choose one of two booking types for your pool, or to mix the two!
Please read below to determine which type fits best with your lifestyle and preference.
The two types of booking on Swimply are:
Instant booking
Allowing Instant Booking automatically approves any reservation made for an available time on your calendar for groups under your designated limit. Guests are directed straight to checkout and once they enter their credit card information, the booking is confirmed and no action is needed on your part!
When a Guest makes an instant booking, you will receive a text message notifying you of their reservation and they will appear in your Upcoming Reservations tab. Any groups larger than your designated limit will have to submit a request-based booking. This allows you to communicate with the Guest and gather more information about their group.
A Pool Listing will show a if it has Instant Booking enabled, helping Guests identify these desirable listings. Instant booking is favored by many Guests and works best for Hosts who keep their calendar well updated.
Request Based Booking
With the By Request booking flow, the process has three steps that need to be completed before it is confirmed.
1. Pre-approval
Some guests may have questions before committing or booking a reservation. A great way for guests to ask a question is through the Contact Host button shown on every listing.
When a guest has an inquiry about a listing, they will submit their question and requested booking details.
This is an opportunity for a Host to answer the questions and decide if the booking will be approved.
**An inquiry does not block time on your listing's calendar!
By accepting this pre-approval, you will click on the Pre-approve button. (currently only available on the mobile app)
*Note: Pre-approval is NOT an actual booking! This is an inquiry sent by the guest to ask questions before booking for their date and time.
2. Request
A Guest will request your listing, which sends an actual request with all their booking details to your Pending Reservations tab. This can be found by selecting Reservations and then Pending.
A pending charge will be applied to your Guest's credit card the moment they submit their booking request. When you approve it, their card will be charged immediately; if you decline, the funds will be released back to the guest's credit card. If a pending reservation is not accepted of declined within 24 hours it will expire. The authorization on the Guest's card will be reversed. When a request is pending, that time is blocked in your calendar so no other requests can be booked for the same period.
3. Approval
You can review any pending requests and manually approve or decline them. Before you approve, make sure you are comfortable with the Guest, their reason for booking (if you only allow family swims, make sure the booking reason does not say ¨event¨, etc), and any other details of their request including the Guest count. If you have any questions for the Guest, make sure to address them in the Swimply chat.
3. Confirmation
Once a booking is Approved, the Guest will be charged immediately. Once the booking is paid, it will be moved to the confirmed status. At this time, your Pool’s address and any relevant booking details will be revealed to the Guest under the Reservations - Confirmed tab!
Please note: Swimply builds in a minimum 30 minutes between bookings, to allow for a private experience for Guests, and to allow for time for cleanup between reservations. This setting can be changed in your Host Settings to a 30 minutes, 1-hour or 2-hour buffer between bookings.
