Sending Marketing Emails to Your Guests using the Fans Feature
What is the Fans Feature?
The Fans feature allows you to message guests with promotions. It can be a way to convert prospects or get previous guests to come back.
How do I use the Fans Feature?
To get started, visit the Marketing tab on the Swimply website or mobile app. Tap “Send exclusive promos”
Next, select which type of guest you want to target. The Fans feature allows you to message four distinct groups of guests
- Leads: these are guests who were close to booking your space but abandoned at checkout
- Followers: these are guests who favorited your listing or previously messaged you about booking it
- One-time guests: these are guests who have previously booked your listing once
- Repeat guests: these are guests who have previously booked your listing multiple times
Next, add a promo code to your message
- Code name - this is the promo code that will be associated with your promotion. All host-created codes automatically start with “H-”. The guest will need to enter this code at checkout

Discount amount - this is the percentage discount granted by your promotion. Note that the discount amount affects the total reservation price, which will affect your earnings
- The minimum discount amount for a Fans message is 10%

Expiration - this is when the promotion expires. Note that the expiration is based on when the guest creates the booking, not when the booking takes place.
- The minimum expiration window is 3 days
If you already have promo codes created for your listing, you will be able to associate an existing code with your Fans message.
Finally, add a message for your Fans. After you submit, the guest will receive an email AND and an in-product chat message that contains your message and promo code.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Can I pick and choose the exact guests I want to message?
A: No - the Fans feature only allows messaging a group of guests, not individual guests.
Q: Can I message guests without a promo code?
A: In order to send a Fans message, you must include a promo code.
Q: Will blocked guests receive Fans messages?
A: Blocked guests will not receive Fans messages.
