An important key to being a successful Swimply Host is managing your calendar availability accurately. There are a few ways to do this ranging in depth and detail. This article will review all methods of managing your availability. This includes but is not limited to setting your yearly availability and hours of operation, managing how far in advance a Guest can book, and whether you wish to accept instant bookings or request bookings only.
There are three primary ways to manage your listing availability, which are accessible on the Calendar page as shown below:
1. General Settings
This is the first step to setting up when Guests can book your listing, as it allows you to specify the days, and overall hours of availability. You can also set the buffer time, or how much time you require between reservations.
2. Advanced Settings
The next step to managing your availability is to determine how far in advance Guests can book your listing on both a monthly and hourly basis. You can also choose whether to allow Instant booking and up to what group size can be booked without requiring your pre-approval.
Please note: Instant Booking allows you to pre-approve booking requests, where Guests can skip the approval process and instantly proceed to checkout for a seamless experience. Listings that have Instant Booking enabled are 80% more likely to get booked, as we rank them higher in the search. Click here for additional information about how listings are ranked.
3. Listing Status
Here the host can view the current status of the listing, as well as select a new status.
- Active - Listing is live and readily available to book. If there is a pause scheduled for the future, there will be an option to cancel said pause.
- Paused - Specify a future time frame for which the listing will be unavailable. For instance, if you're going away for the winter, and want to make the listing unavailable for a few months, this is the perfect option.
- Unlisted - The listing will not be bookable or searchable at all until the status is manually changed to one of the above options. Selecting this option will prompt the Host to select a reason for unlisting; offer an opportunity to pause instead, or to schedule a 1:1 with Hostcare to discuss unlisting. Click here to learn more.
