What are Promo Codes?
Promo codes allow Guests to receive a discount when booking your space.
You can create a promo code with a set name, discount amount, expiration date, and a maximum number of redemptions. Guests can then enter the promo code when booking your space to receive a discount.
Promo codes can be used in a variety of scenarios - it’s entirely up to you!:
- They can be used in broad marketing - you can post them on social media, print them on postcards, and so on
- They can help you convince a first-time customer to try your space
- They can be used to convince a previous Guest to come back
How Can I Create a Promo Code?
To get started, visit the Marketing tab on your host dashboard. Tap which code you would like to create:
Create a new promo!: creates a code that you can share with specific users or on social media
Display promos on your listing: This code will be posted on your listing and is good for running limited time promos.
Send Love to your fans!: This code will be sent to everyone that has added your space to their favorites.
Next, configure your promo code:
- Code name: this is the text that the Guest will need to enter in checkout to receive the discount. All host-created codes automatically start with “H-”
- Discount amount: this is the percentage discount that the code will grant. Note that the discount amount affects the total reservation price, which will affect your earnings
- Expiration: this is when the code expires. Note that the expiration is based on when the Guest creates the booking, not when the booking takes place.
- Redemption limit: this refers to the number of times that the code can be used. Irrespective of the redemption limit, an individual Guest will only be able to redeem a code once. If you want the same Guest to receive a discount, you will need to create multiple codes

Q: Can I expire a discount code early?
A: If you need to expire a code early, please contact customer support.
Q: Can I offer codes that are $-off instead of %-off?
A: As of right now, promo codes must be a percentage off.
Q: How do promo codes combine with other discounts and Swimply credits?
A: Only one promo code can be added by a guest per booking. However, promo codes can be used with other listing promotions that have been set by the host, such as weekday discounts.
