What are Listing Promotions?
Listing promotions allow you to attach discounts to your listing. These discounts will appear on your listing, while also highlighting your listing in search results. Listing promotions are a great way to stand out from other hosts and boost bookings!
How Can I Create a Listing Promotion?
To get started, visit the Marketing tab on your host dashboard. Tap Configure promotion
Next, configure your promotion:
- Code Name: this is the promo code that will be associated with your promotion. All host-created codes automatically start with “H-”. The promo code will be automatically applied on your listing, although your Guest will have the ability to remove it at checkout

Discount Amount: this is the percentage discount granted by your promotion. Note that the discount amount affects the total reservation price, which will affect your earnings
- The minimum discount amount for a promotion is 10%

Expiration: this is when the promotion expires. Note that the expiration is based on when the Guest creates the booking, not when the booking takes place.
- The minimum expiration window is 3 days
- Redemption limit: this refers to the number of times that the promotion can be redeemed. Irrespective of the redemption limit, an individual Guest will only be able to redeem a code once.
If you already have promo codes created for your listing, you will be able to associate an existing code with your promotion.
Finally, add a short message that will appear next to your promotion. This step is optional.
After that you’re done! The listing will appear on your listing. It will automatically disappear when it expires.
Listing Promotions FAQ
Q: How do Guests see my promotion?
A: Guests will can see promotions in several ways
- Listings with promotions will have a special “Deal” tag in search results
- Listings with promotions will appear in a special “Deals” category in search results. (Guests can specifically filter for listings with promotions)
- On your listing page, the promotion will be displayed alongside the listing price. The promotion will be automatically applied at checkout, although Guests may choose to remove the promotion
Q: Can I end a listing promotion early?
A: Yes. If you need to end a listing promotion, you will be able to do so from the listing promotion menu.
Q: Can I offer promotions that are $-off instead of %-off?
A: As of right now, promotions must be a percentage off.
Q: How are listing promotions different from promo codes?
A: Listing promotions are attached directly to your listing page. All Guests who book your listing will be able to use the promotion. Promo codes are for you to distribute - you can send them to specific Guests or post them in specific places. To learn more about promo codes, see here.
Q: How do listing promotions combine with other discounts and Swimply credits?
A: Listing promotions will stack with other promotions that you have set, including any weekday discounts, calendar discounts or boosts, and grand opening discounts. Listing promotions cannot be combined with credits, including any referral credits that the Guest may have.
