Abandon Cart Discount
Who are cart abandoners and why should I offer them promotions?
Cart abandoners are a type of Guest who started the booking process but stopped after reaching the final screen. This means that the Guest selected a date, time, Guest count, and amenities, but they did not complete payment. When this happens, it usually means that the Guest was very interested in your listing, but the total price was too high and they chose not to book. A promotion may help convince these Guests to book.
How can I automate messages to cart abandoners?
To get started, visit the Marketing tab on the Swimply website or mobile app. Tap Set it up under Abandon cart discount:
Next, add a promo code and message.
For the promo code:
- Discount amount - this is the percentage discount granted by your promotion. Note that the discount amount affects the total reservation price, which will affect your earnings.
- The minimum discount amount for an abandon cart promotion is 10%
- Expiration - this is when the promotion expires. Note that the expiration is based on when the Guest creates the booking, not when the booking takes place.
For the message, keep in mind that all future Guests who abandon cart will see this message:
By using this feature, Swimply will automatically send an email to these Guests 4 hours after they abandon the cart on your listing. The email will NOT be sent if they have booked any space in this window.

What are weekday discounts?
Designed to increase bookings during the week with a specific Monday - Thursday discount opportunity. To get started, visit the Marketing tab on the Swimply website or mobile app. Tap Set it up under Abandon cart Weekday discounts:
Choose between 10-50% for weekday ONLY price:
Click Done.
Swimmer Discounts for New Pools
The first three Guests who book your pool and you confirm will get 20% off the price of their booking*. This special offer can attract new Guests, and help you get the first three reviews you need to receive your first 5-star ratings. You will not earn as much for your first three bookings, but it will be a great way to jump-start your listing, earn reviews, and build up your early customer list (for repeat bookings).
This discount provides a financial incentive for Guests to book a new pool over existing pools that have 5-star reviews and are already trusted. The new host also benefits by gaining experience hosting and establishing a track record via swimmer reviews. Having 5-star ratings will help hosts improve their ranking in the search algorithm, which should then bring them even more bookings!
When you are adding a listing, and are done setting all of your pool and booking details and have passed the review, you'll see this screen:
The Offer 20% off to your first Guests option is selected by default. If you don't want to offer this discount, select Don’t add a special offer. If you select to offer it and decide later you no longer want to include it you will need to contact Swimply Customer Support.
After those first three bookings, the 20% new-pool discount goes away.
Please Note: this discount is in addition to the normal host platform fee that is taken out of every booking.
*In order for your first three Guests to qualify for the discount you as a Host must review and confirm their booking request. Once the booking is in the Confirmed status the discount will be applied. Until your first three confirmed bookings are complete, your listing will be viewed with a discounted price to incentivize Guests to choose your space.
