This article addresses the following:
Congratulations on your recent confirmed reservation for a large event! Events mean lots of fun and great memories made at your pool, and an extra large payment too. Large events also often mean extra thought, planning, and preparation is necessary. At Swimply we do our best to make sure you’ve got everything you need to confidently and safely host your Guests, so here you’ll find some tips and best practices for how to best prepare. As always, you can contact Swimply support with any questions.
You can chat directly with a member of Support during most business hours by clicking the "Help" icon in the bottom right corner:
BE AWARE: Extra large parties that are marketed on social media with tickets sold to attendees and DJ's or other staff hired are no longer accepted on Swimply. Bookings like this will be canceled immediately. The security, wellbeing, and peace of mind of our Hosts and their neighbors are our highest priority. Read more information about this ban here.
Guidance for Before the Event Starts
- Reach out to your Guest early via Swimply chat. It's a great idea to get to know them in advance and talk about the upcoming event. If you need to express some special parking instructions or extra rules, talking to the Guest directly will help avoid confusion later on.
- Prepare your pool space by removing and storing anything that you do not want the Guests to use. If you have toys, furniture, or other gear that is not part of the Pool rental, put them somewhere inaccessible so no one is confused and uses them accidentally.
- Have your rules on display near the pool. It’s unfortunate but true that the Guest who booked may not always communicate all your pool rules to each and every member of their group. You can reduce potential misunderstanding by keeping your rules display.
-
Head counts are best confirmed and agreed upon before the start of the booking.
- Your Guest may be estimating the total number of people who will arrive.
- Establish with them ahead of time whether you will need to charge for each and every person, or if you're flexible about a few extra visitors.
- Once there has been an agreement, send a message to Swimply Customer Care and we will make any additional charges that are necessary. It will be up to you and the guest to agree on an amount to charge for the additional Guest or any other new charges. If discussed and a price is agreed on in chat, we can use that as a record for the Guest's consent to be charged. Discussing price with the guest and getting consent for the additional charges will best be done before the event takes place.
Tips for During the Event
- According to the Swimply hosting policy, the Host must always be home during a large event of more than 15 people. This ensures optimal supervision during larger get togethers.
- You may want to enable security cameras, or take photos of the event. In the rare event any issues are noticed during check-out, video and photographic evidence will help us address them.
- Consider methods to count attendees. You can distribute wristbands or similar items to each person until you've reached the total on the reservation and if you run out early then you know there are more people then are accounted for. You can even designate a unique color for the Guest who made the booking and is the main contact person for the event.
How Can I Be Mindful of My Neighbors?
Smoking - If you don't allow smoking, we suggest posting signs to remind Guests. If you do allow smoking, ensure you have ashtrays available.
Parking - Ensure you relay parking rules for your home and neighborhood to your Guest.
Noise - Remind Guests about keeping noise down. You may want to consider whether you allow babies, pets, or parties. Develop a policy about guests inviting other people over, and ensure your guests are clear about your 'event policy.'
It is of utmost importance to us that Swimply only brings joy to communities. As such, aside for being responsible for providing accurate and safe listings, Hosts on Swimply must comply with our Good Neighbor Policy before listing.

Advice For if the Event Gets Too Big
If at any time you feel like the event has gotten a little out of hand - maybe a lot more people have arrived than expected, or it’s going too late, or getting too loud - it’s up to you to tell the Guests that you are no longer comfortable with the event, and that it is over. The safety of yourself, your property, and your neighbors is paramount ahead of a Guest’s event. You have the right to end the reservation before the scheduled time, the Guest cannot insist that they are allowed to stay.
If you feel unsafe and there is a risk or threat to your person or property, you reserve the right to call the police and reach out to Swimply Customer Care.
