Unless you’re an athlete in an ice bath, no one likes to shiver in a chilly pool. Sometimes outdoor pools have to deal with the ambient outdoor temperature, but you should always feel comfortable at a Swimply reservation and know what you’re getting into, temperature-wise.
Swimply has both Heated and Unheated pools. Depending on the time of year, you may like to swim in a warmer or cooler pool. Confirm on the listing page, whether the pool is heated or unheated. We also suggest checking the forecasted temperature for the day of your reservation. You can also talk to your host in advance to get more information about the expected temperature of the pool. Swimply's standard acceptable temperature is 80 degrees. If you have a specific temperature request, the Host can advise you whether or not that will be feasible. Remember to keep all communications in the Swimply inbox for your records.
Also, be aware that if your booking is at an unheated pool and your swim is on the cold side, no reimbursement will be owed. Thus, it is best to talk to your Host in advance about rescheduling to a warmer day.
Alternatively, if your booking is at a heated pool, but the "heated" pool is just too cold. Here’s what you should do:
- Contact your Host via chat or in person the moment you realize the pool is too cold. Ask them to check what temperature the pool is and document this for your records. Try to come to an agreement, such as extending the time to allow the pool to heat up more, a possible refund or even rescheduling to a different day. Keep all written communications in the Swimply chat for your records.
-
Contact Swimply Customer Care no more than one day after your reservation.
For Swimply Support to conduct an accurate investigation into the pool condition during your reservation, Swimply must be contacted within 24 hours of the Reservation. To expedite our investigation, please include your booking number, your reservation date, and how long you stayed at the property in your ticket. If you've come to an agreement with the Host, also include a screenshot of the conversation and details of the agreement. We will facilitate the agreement accordingly. If no agreement could be made, proceed to step number 3.
-
Hang tight while Swimply Customer Care investigates the pool's condition and the reservation's circumstances. We’ll also determine if additional Host education is necessary. If we find that the pool was below our acceptable temperature standard of 80 degrees, you may be eligible for a refund or credit to your account.
- Please Note: If you stayed on the Host’s property for the majority of the time reserved, you have effectively fulfilled your Swimply reservation and are not eligible for a refund or credit. This rule stands, even if you didn’t swim.

- Swimply support will contact you to let you know whether you are eligible for compensation, and if so, what those compensation options are.
Please Note: If you booked an unheated pool and found it too cold to swim, after all, you are not eligible for a refund.
