We strongly encourage any Host with diving boards and slides rented out on Swimply and used by Guests during their Swimply reservation to determine if they meet the following safety standards before offering them.
Slides
- Swimming pool slides should conform to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC Safety Standard for Swimming Pool Slides (16 CFR Part 1207). This standard covers manufacturing material requirements and provides recommendations regarding installation, maintenance, and intended use
- Slides should have additional safety features like sturdy, molded handrails that are easy to grip, wide ladder treads with enclosed steps, and high sidewalls. Slides designed with these features provide a greater level of safety in addition to meeting the CPSC standard.
- Slides should be properly installed and affixed to a mound of earth or concrete. Slides should not be mobile or on poles.
Diving Boards
- Diving boards should meet the requirements set by American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Diving boards for residential pools should be no higher than 3M high. The pool should have a standard diving depth of 7.5 to 9 feet and must be a minimum of 16ft wide and 32ft long
