Swimply is committed to the safety and security of all in our community. Some of the ways we promote safety are through our review system, our in-platform chat system, and our verification system marking verified users with a blue shield and plus symbols . Swimply also conducts background checks utilitizing a third-party background check system to check for past criminal activity.
Swimply's dedicated team of knowledgeable Trust & Safety specialists regularly monitors any suspicious activity on the platform. Our Community Care team is available and ready to assist you via live chat and email if you ever feel unsafe or have concerns you'd like to report to us. In the event of a medical emergency or if your personal safety is being threatened, please contact local authorities or emergency care providers for immediate assistance prior to contacting Swimply.
Reporting Suspicious Activity
We appreciate you helping keep our community safe by reporting any suspicious and inappropriate behavior that violates our Terms of Use. This includes:
- Off-platform payment requests
- Harassing or offensive messages
- Inappropriate behavior, whether online or at a reservation
- Fraudulent listings or profiles
- Guests who disturb the surrounding community
- Repeated attempts to engage in activities or conversations not related to the booking
- Engagement in illegal activities such as theft
If a user has made you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, you can report them to Swimply through our Help Center. If the user is found to be in violation of Swimply’s policies, they may be removed from the platform.
Background checks
All users may be subject to a background check, per our Terms of Use. These background checks screen for past criminal activity, and any users with pending charges or prior convictions may be removed from our platform.
Criminal History
We appreciate that there are many factors that could lead someone to have a criminal record, and a prior conviction should not necessarily determine the future of any of our users. During our review process, we consider factors including the individual’s age at the time of their conviction, any other convictions, and the length of time since their last conviction. Ultimately, Swimply reserves the right to remove any user we deem a poor fit for our community.
Minor offenses such as a drug conviction may not result in the removal of a user from our platform.
Users convicted of mid-level offenses are subject to further review and may face suspension or removal, depending on the details of their offense(s).
Severe crimes such as child or sexual abuse, human trafficking, terrorism, or hate crimes will result in removal of the user from Swimply.
We are committed to working with law enforcement as appropriate and responding to valid law enforcement requests.
If you have concerns about a user's criminal record, please reach out to Swimply through our Help Center.
